The fuselage is inspired by the principles of modern aerospace design with unparalleled attention to detail.

It has great eco-cred using sustainably sourced wood and recycled aluminium to achieve an eco-friendly and robust structure.

A triple-layered insulated skin system will keep the elements out along with a wood-burning stove to ensure you stay warm and cosy – or cool and dry – whatever the weather! The Fuselage is your private spot to commune with nature without any neighbours save the occasional deer.

Birds are in abundance here and depending on the season you can expect to see/hear Owls, Woodpeckers, Finches and Tits, Wood pigeons and various raptors.

Cuil na Sith (pronounced – cool na shee)

The peaceful spot

This tranquil decagon is in a fabulous double-glazed spot with wonderful uninterrupted views over the west coast of Scotland from the Cuillin range on Skye, over Raasay and Applecross to the Torridon Alps in the distance. A comfortable space with basic crockery and cutlery so that guests can have a refreshing drink and simple eats if they so choose. It is uniquely for the benefit of Fuselage guests who will find a small Fridge and Microwave for their use. It is close to but separate from the Fuselage itself.

why choose the fuselage

On arrival

On arrival, the Fuselage is made up as a table with two bench seats opposite one another and a separate seating/relaxing area. The guest booklet gives explanations to assist guests convert the table arrangement into a double bed and the adjacent seating area into two bunk beds. The upper bunk has a weight limit of 60kg. Bed liners are provided for each guest together with a single Duvet and pillow filled with goose down or eco-friendly micro fibre filling according to your preference expressed when booking.

Facilities

Guests also have their own private shower and toilet facilities in the washroom which is situated a short distance away. It contains a hot water shower a wash hand basin and a flushing toilet. There is also a hot air hand drier and a large heated towel rail in the lockable private space for the use of Fuselage guests together with some organic Highland Soap Co. products for hand and body washing and hair shampoo. Towels are provided for each guest.

There are fresh water standpipes adjacent to both the Fuselage and Coil na Sith. Both the Fuselage and Coil na Sith are connected to mains electricity.
