In the rugged beauty of Duirinish and the mystical allure of the Isle of Skye, adventure beckons around every corner…
Isle of Skye Ferry
A great day out! The location of the original ferry crossing to Skye still operates from April to October. No booking is required. It is the only manually operated turntable ferry in the world and is operated and owned by the local community.
Before the ferry, the narrow channel at Kylerhea was the traditional crossing point for cattle from the Island to the mainland on their way to the markets in the south tied nose to tail and made to swim across the narrows following behind a small boat.

Misty Isles Boat Trips
Sailing from Elgol across Loch Skavaig to the very heart of the Cuillin mountains. The Misty Isle takes you to a landing point from which you can take a short walk to Loch Coruisk – famously painted by Turner.
Calum’s Seal Trips
Have a wonderful social experience onboard Calum’s boat from Plockton. A feature of the sail is that if you see no seals you get your money back! Trips last about 1 hour.

Uig Pottery
Visit this pottery and see its distinctive patterns inspired by the surrounding land and seascapes. There is also a Celtic knotwork range which includes ceramic Quaichs.
